FCBL Inaugurates National Strategic Food Reserve Warehouse in Nganglam

The Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) inaugurated its newly constructed National Strategic Food Reserve Warehouse in Nganglam today, marking a significant milestone in the nation's ongoing efforts to strengthen food security and supply chain resilience. With a storage capacity of 1,500 metric tonnes, the state-of-the-art facility is strategically positioned to serve as a vital storage and distribution hub for essential food commodities, ensuring reliable access for communities across Pemagatshel, Mongar, and Lhuntse Dzongkhags. Designed to enhance operational efficiency and logistical responsiveness, the warehouse will play a crucial role in safeguarding national food reserves and strengthening the supply chain network across eastern Bhutan. The infrastructure reflects FCBL's continued focus on preparedness, sustainability, and service excellence. Speaking at the inauguration, our Chief Executive Officer highlighted the broader significance of the facility-not only as a modern storage unit, but as a cornerstone in enhancing national resilience, enabling timely support to communities, and mitigating vulnerabilities during emergencies. The launch of the warehouse underscores the Royal Government of Bhutan's and FCBL's unwavering commitment to food sovereignty, strategic preparedness, and inclusive development. As FCBL continues to build critical food security infrastructure, it remains dedicated to ensuring that every household has access to essential food supplies-especially during times of need-while reinforcing its mandate to serve with integrity, efficiency, and excellence.
