The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Parliament of Bhutan held a consultation meeting with the FCBL management today to review the outstanding audit observations reported during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those related to outstanding trade receivables from the trade facilitation of agricultural products and outstanding credit facilities for food and essential commodities provided to national customers. The meeting was attended by the Hon’ble Members of Parliament and representatives from the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) in Phuentsholing, led by the Assistant Auditor General. The causes and current status of all outstanding audit observations were thoroughly reviewed and discussed. Following extensive deliberations on the observations, the committee advised the management to submit its recommendations to the Board of Directors and the RAA for further action and settlement. In addition to the discussion on the audit observations, the Hon’ble Members also engaged in constructive discussions on concerns raised by the FCBL management regarding the current operational issues, particularly the trading of agricultural products through auction yards.
