Today, the Hon’ble Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL) paid a brief visit to the Corporate Headquarters of the Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL), reaffirming the Ministry’s continued support for the corporation’s critical national role. During the visit, the Secretary was apprised of the current status of national food reserves, particularly in light of potential supply constraints arising from fuel shortages linked to ongoing global conflicts. Updates were also provided on the progress of the egg import and distribution plan, highlighting ongoing efforts to ensure stable supply and market availability. The meeting served as an important platform to discuss key issues and challenges faced by FCBL, especially within the agricultural export sector. In response, the Hon’ble Secretary assured continued support to address these challenges and emphasized the strategic importance of FCBL in fulfilling its mandates related to the National Strategic Food Reserve (NSFR), price stabilization, and the export of agricultural products. Following the discussions at the headquarters, the Hon’ble Secretary also visited the Central Warehouse in Phuentsholing to gain further insights into operational activities on the ground. FCBL expressed its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Secretary for the visit and for taking the time to engage with the team, share valuable insights, and reaffirm the corporation’s vital role in serving the nation.
