FCBL CEO Pays Courtesy Call on Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of India to Bhutan


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of India to Bhutan in Thimphu to discuss areas of mutual cooperation and strengthen institutional ties. The meeting provided an important opportunity to reaffirm the longstanding friendship and partnership between Bhutan and India, particularly in the areas of food security, agriculture, and trade. During the discussion, the CEO highlighted FCBL’s mandate, key business operations, and its critical role in ensuring national food security and supporting the agricultural sector. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration through capacity development initiatives, strengthening institutional partnerships, and exploring support for warehouse and cold storage infrastructure to further improve Bhutan’s food supply chain system. The CEO also expressed appreciation for India’s continued support to Bhutan’s agriculture sector and the strong bilateral trade relationship shared between the two countries. The Deputy Chief of Mission congratulated the CEO on his appointment and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to extending support and facilitation to FCBL. He further encouraged the submission of proposals under India’s support framework that align with the priorities of Bhutan’s 13th Five-Year Plan. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing common goals in sustainable development, food security, agricultural growth, and trade, further strengthening the enduring partnership between Bhutan and India.
