On 19 September, the CEO of the Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Josel Francisco Ignacio, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Bhutan, to explore potential areas of collaboration between the Philippines and FCBL. The discussion explored opportunities for high-value Philippine agri-food products to access emerging markets in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), while also identifying potential opportunities for Bhutanese agri-products in Philippines. The FCBL CEO shared the Corporation’s mandate, transformation priorities and plans to establish a high-value premium agri-food outlet in GMC, alongside expanding exports of priority commodities including potatoes, avocado, ginger and cardamom. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of international partnerships, market access and value-added trade in advancing FCBL’s transformation and contributing to Bhutan’s evolving food and economic landscape.
