FCBL inaugurated its new Warehouse-cum-Regional Office

Food Corporation of Bhutan Ltd. (FCBL) recently inaugurated its new Warehouse-cum-Office in Gelephu, which was graced by the Chief Executive Officer and Lam Neten, accompanied by officials from the corporate headquarters in Phuentsholing. The newly constructed facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and built using high-quality prefab materials, ensuring its resilience against any potential calamities such as earthquakes. With a capacity of 1000 metric tons, double that of their previous warehouse, this newly established facility provides a significant step towards fulfilling FCBL's mandate to maintain National Food Security Reserve (NFSR) for the region. Furthermore, it is anticipated that this modern facility will enhance operations, logistics and customer services, improving the overall efficiency of the organization. During the ceremony, CEO Mr. Dorji Tashi emphasized the pivotal role the warehouse and regional office play as a central hub, in ensuring uninterrupted distribution and adequate food reserves for the six central Dzongkhags in the country. The emphasis was on their crucial role in securing the food supply chain and meeting region's food security needs. CEO conveyed his profound gratitude to the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) for their invaluable financial support. He also took a moment to extend his deep appreciation to the contractor and project engineers for the successful completion of the project. Additionally, he thanked everyone else involved, including the FCBL team members, for their collective support, commitment and dedication.
